Your local GP is also a board qualified ophthalmologist.
Given the restricted access to ophthalmologic services, it is planned that he will do regularly a clinic in Kirkwall.
This fits in with plans of the Health Board Orkney to use man power more efficiently.
(There will be no additional personal costs for the Board: salary is already paid for)
There will be a surgery on that day, mostly in the evening if travelscheme permits.
For emergencies the nurses can be contacted.

It is not a pleasant thing to think about: the time one is not there anymore. No one knows how that point will be reached and probably you have thoughts of what is acceptable and what is not. Then, is having a living will a good idea? You can get forms from the practice if you want.
TRAVELLING
Travel Documents: We have European passports available at a cost of £4.00 each. Money will go into the Surgery Fund. In this multilingual document your diseases and medications can be entered so that there is no confusion abroad.
Vaccinations: Sanday Practice is now recognised as Yellow Fever centre. So all vaccinations are given in the practice. Also an official vaccination document is available. Please inform in time because vaccinations have to be ordered.
